  <description>&lt;p&gt;This is an open call for 8 multidisciplinary artists with lived experience of forced migration, exile, or displacement based anywhere in the world who are interested in taking part in the virtual exhibition ‘Belonging’ as part of the project Artists Connecting in Transition (ACT). ACT is funded by the British Council International Collaboration Fund.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The exhibition will provide an opportunity for you to work virtually and meet an international group of artists and partners. Artworks in any medium are welcome, as long as they can be presented digitally.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;A 500 GBP bursary is available for each artist.&lt;/strong&gt; Collaboration with the curator will take place between July – December 2023. Selected artists will also be invited to meet the other 11 artists and project partners at a virtual coffee meeting on a date to be agreed with the selected artists.&lt;/p&gt;

  <title><a href="/news/artists-connecting-transition-residencies-artists-exile-jordan-turkey-and-uk" hreflang="en">Artists Connecting in Transition: Residencies for Artists in Exile in Jordan, Turkey and the UK</a></title>

  <description>&lt;p&gt;Artists Connecting in Transition (ACT) is a new international programme for artists in exile, centring on artistic practice and international exchange in the context of significant global challenges and inequalities around forced migration, exile and displacement. Funded by the British Council, ACT sets out to create environments of care, creativity and support for artists whose practice has been disrupted through forced migration.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;From September 2022, ACT’s programme of in-person and online activities will include six artist residencies in UK, Turkey and Jordan, international workshops, a digital launch of artworks and local exhibitions.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;D6: Culture in Transit (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK), Arthereistanbul (Istanbul, Turkey) and MedeArts (Irbid, Jordan) with support from the Fanak Fund are looking to select and host artists with lived experience of forced migration, exile or displacement currently based in each country.
